actually, i was kind of worried about the basket weave myself...but once i finished the panel i held it over my stomach and pulled to see how much it stretched. i knitted mine with 100% alpaca, and it seemed to give a good amount...plus i am anticipating a big of a stretch with blocking...
i've finished knitting it but have to do the blocking on the front.
when in doubt, knit a bit loose... did you wash your swatch? if you did and measured and it came out fine ... trust in yourself!
ps. thanks for writing, you've given me AMPLE motivation to finish it now lol
