resolute

This year I resolve to continue my exploration of the fibre-y arts with gusto...(and perhaps gumbo if I find a good recipe!)
-
Specifics...
-
Now, resolutions are often a little painful so I'll list the painful ones first:
-
- assemble the tank top
- assemble the catnip mice
- felt the needle case
- assemble the needle case
-
Now the fun ones:
-
- finish Laura's socks
- learn to spin on a drop spindle
- dye some sock yarn
- learn to needle felt
- start & finish at least one sweater for me (either this one, this one, or this one)
- do some proper knitted lace (maybe a shawl?)
- design at least one sock pattern
-use Koigu sock yarn
-
Now I'm off to finish Kurt's entrelac scarf...
-
Happy New Year!

Collect the Whole Set!

Presenting the third in my collection of Cookie's sock patterns... the Baudelaire!
It's a wonderful complement to my earlier Hedera and Pomatomus socks.
What's next? The Red Herring? Monkey? BFF?
Only time will tell...
I'm still pretty smitten with this pattern.
Check out the detail on these babies!
The wool in the background of the top picture is currently furiously being turned into 'danica', an entrelac scarf.
ENTRELAC ROCKS!
Socks may just have to sit in the background for awhile.

oops - I slipped

Christmas gift #3 - finished (except for the snap)

and already delivered?

Well...I know he can use them now. And he got them in conjunction with St. Nikolaus Day and our 18 month anniversary so I guess it's ok.

What a fun and fast pattern - from Patons Heads to Toes. I finished the first convertible mitt in less than a week! I guess worsted weight knitting flies by when you're used to making lace socks. I used Sandnes Perfect yarn from Norway - 85% wool, 15% nylon in charcoal and promptly picked some up in navy to make some socks for my father in the future (although he has said not to bother...not quite sure yet why!)
